Name: Tiffany Armstrong
Role: manager, Audit & Internal Controls, Risk & Financial Advisory, Deloitte & Touche LLP
Years at Deloitte: 8
Graduate of: Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU)
What was your fondest memory at FAMU?
Hanging out with all my friends and peers on Set Fridays, an event filled with local vendors, music, and the latest dances.
What led you to join Deloitte, and why did you choose to grow your career here?
I was first introduced to Deloitte through the Audit & Assurance HBCU case study by one of my accounting professors. Throughout the opportunity I met several Deloitte professionals, decided to apply for an internship, and was extended an internship offer. Since then, I’ve enjoyed growing my career with some of the smartest people I’ve ever met.
In your current role, how are you making an impact on your colleagues and community?
In my current role I’m able to participate in HBCU recruiting and interviews, Discovery internship facilitation, and serve as a judge for the HBCU Emerging Leaders Program. I am also a coach to our interns during their 6-8-week internships.
Name: Jonathan Green
Role: senior manager, Cyber & Strategic Risk, Deloitte & Touche LLP
Years at Deloitte: 11
Graduate of: Morehouse College
What was your fondest memory at Morehouse College?
While there are many that come to mind, the lasting memory is the first week of school during move-in and orientation. The guys I met that week have become life-long friends.
What led you to join Deloitte, and why did you choose to grow your career here?
Ultimately, my network helped me to make the transition to Deloitte. As I continue to navigate my career, my mentors, champions, and coach relationships have helped fuel my growth.
In your current role, how are you making an impact on your colleagues and community?
I have the pleasure of leading the Cyber Black & Allies Community, which engages Deloitte professionals across the country through virtual events to help inspire and connect members of the community. I also support our national DEI recruiting team with the planning and execution of campus career fairs and events that increase awareness of Deloitte opportunities and provide my colleagues and I the opportunity to build meaningful connections with students. I share more about my passion for giving back to the community via our Life at Deloitte blog.
Name: Justyce Riggs
Role: senior tax consultant, Multistate Tax Services, Deloitte Tax LLP
Years at Deloitte: 2
Graduate of: Xavier University of Louisiana
What was your fondest memory at Xavier University of Louisiana?
My fondest memory at Xavier University of Louisiana was connecting with so many peers and professors. This helped me excel during my college journey because I decided to take advantage of each resource given to me. Career services on campus made a big impact because they helped me with my resume, cover letters, mock interviews, and other job search preparation. All the resources that were placed in front of me along my path helped me throughout my journey to gain valuable knowledge and experience.
What led you to join Deloitte, and why did you choose to grow your career here?
|Xavier University of Louisiana helped me find Deloitte. A recruiter from Deloitte connected with me through networking and then going through the interview process, I was given the opportunity to intern with Deloitte three times. Throughout those internships, I was able to learn so much about Deloitte and experience even more. With the help of my HBCU and the leadership from Deloitte, I was given the opportunity to not only receive my master’s in Accounting with Data and Analytics on a scholarship from Deloitte Tax, but also start full-time here at Deloitte while growing my knowledge and career under the Tax business.
In your current role, how are you making an impact on your colleagues and community?
As a senior tax consultant here at Deloitte, I have been making an impact by informing students of the many opportunities at Deloitte through HBCU and DEI recruiting events.
