Consumer leaders share insights from CES and NRF

In a new episode of our consumer podcast series, consumer and retail leaders reflect on their top takeaways from 2025’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the National Retail Federation’s (NRF) Big Show.

Maggie Gross, who leads the brand practice at Deloitte Digital, takes a turn as host of the podcast, joined by Deloitte leaders Chris Ahn, Ed Johnson, and Bobby Stephens as her guests. They discuss the most exciting trends shaping the future of retail and consumer markets, from mobility innovation to the impact of artificial intelligence in product development, marketing, and personalization. They also explore the convergence of digital and physical retail.

As the episode concludes, each leader shares the innovation from CES and NRF they would most like to purchase.

Many of these experience innovations are fueled by data. Data that is either collected in the moment because the picture is taken with the camera and then profiled, or data that’s provided because the shopper has somehow identified themselves. The key is communicating to shoppers when that data is being used to influence a decision and then storing only the data that is required.
