What you need to know about the intelligent edge network
What is the intelligent edge? The edge refers to network locations that are close to a device or sensor. Data can be captured at the edge and quickly processed with very low latency, making it especially helpful for things that need high-speed or real-time response, like autonomous vehicles. With the addition of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the edge becomes intelligent, enabling more informed onsite decision-making for those who rely on remote data, such as healthcare or security professionals. Meanwhile, cloud makes sure that edge devices are continuously trained and connected to data centers.
In this podcast, Sandy Shirai, Deloitte’s TMT industry leader, and Janice Zdankus, vice president at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, join host Hanish Patel to discuss how intelligent edge computing is enabling businesses to make decisions in real time. They explore how organizations are adopting the edge, why it’s so important, and how advanced connectivity like 5G enables the intelligent edge. From gaming and utilities to agriculture, manufacturing, and telemedicine, leveraging edge intelligence helps organizations deliver more personalized services and enables higher performance with greater efficiency.
For businesses that are new to the Intelligent Edge, I would urge them to start small, but think really big.
