Oracle operations

A large US supermarket chain had outdated legacy systems and processes across supply chain merchandising areas, leading to challenges in fulfillment and the inability to go omnichannel.

Deloitte helped the company transform its key merchandising processes for an optimized supply chain and increased ecommerce business by implementing the Oracle Retail merchandising system and building an integrated warehouse smart platform.

IT operations

A leading global transportation company was facing a large amount of technical debt associated with its ServiceNow application and difficulties addressing aged enhancement requests, such as banking role and token management, network automation integrations, and new call interaction.

The Deloitte team was able to immediately assist and provide support for in-house projects to automate port security as well as to improve handling of calls, chats, and email inquiries using the ServiceNow agent workspace. The Team also improved the response for vulnerability service requests by enhancing existing Configuration Items(CI) and Assignment Group rules.

Supply chain operations

Spend Management as a Service (SMaaS) optimizes third-party spend by providing comprehensive sources to pay services augmented with expertise, digital assets, and global delivery centers.

Case in point

Newly divested from its parent company, a Korean semiconductor and data storage company was facing challenges with setting up a new procurement organization and addressing skills gaps.

Deloitte helped the company understand its business challenges with indirect procurement, category management, and spend diagnostics, and established process-oriented procurement operations for spot buy and ordering. We also introduced industry best practices to follow in category management and strategic sourcing. Finally, we provided operations support for Ariba, Fieldglass, and direct procurement.

Finance operations

We address critical issues facing finance across all industry sectors and help technical support focused on end-to-end finance services (R2R, P2P, O2C, procurement, tax, and treasury).

Case in point

A leading wine distributor had been experiencing turnovers in its accounts payable department. A large percentage of invoices were in backlog due to exceptions, escheatment exposures, and top vendors in credit hold, impacting supplier relationships.

Deloitte helped establish a process to catch up with intercompany invoice backlogs and implemented new processes to reduce overall cycle time in reviewing errors and payment. Deloitte also implemented BOTs to match EFTs, automatic review of invoices, and payment error auditing, increasing overall payment accuracy to 99%.
