Tech Fellows are pioneers, visionaries, and innovators in their specialty and are of critical importance to our clients’ success.

Meet some of our Tech Fellows below.

Lorenzo Ross

Lorenzo is a data management and architecture subject matter expert (SME). He delivers large complex Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse, Enterprise Data Management, Analytic, and data modernization programs. As a strategic advisor to Chief Data Officers and other CXOs, he unlocks value from the massive amounts of data agencies collect, manage, and share.

How has being a Tech Fellow propelled your career?
Being a Tech Fellow places me at the forefront with other Deloitte and industry leaders. I'm now part of a community of technology executives shaping opportunities and innovative solutions to meet our clients' most important mission objectives. Helping top government and commercial leaders derive more value from their data, I now serve as an example and help grow other professionals to use their technical skills to play strategic leadership roles.

What type of background helped you become a Tech Fellow?
I've had a wide range of experiences over my 28-year IT career. I learned early on in my career that I loved being in the middle of the most difficult and challenging technology projects, coming up with innovative solutions. I've served as an application developer, database/network/systems administrator, tester, team/project lead, solution architect, and product manager. These experiences and my love of innovation and problem-solving have given me a wide-angle view of the IT landscape that aligns perfectly with being a Tech Fellow.

What advice do you have for aspiring Tech Fellows?
Think about your why. Tech Fellow encompasses the things that I am most passionate about: I am a leader who is able to stay technology-focused; be recognized and rewarded; and be active in the vision, planning, and execution of Deloitte’s direction, strategy, and operations.

Lars Cromley

Lars is a creative person who loves solving problems. He likes learning, finding solutions, and helping build great things with great people.

How has being a Tech Fellow propelled your career?
My role as a Tech Fellow now is a tribute to my decades of experience in technology. I came to Deloitte with more than 10 years in developing cloud-native solutions. I believe in applied science and staying close to the work. That has made all the difference for me. As a Tech Fellow, I spend time with the technology, building labs, experimenting, and thinking about how it might be used in new ways. Being a Tech Fellow has allowed me to maintain higher-level relationships with our clients, resulting in early identification of areas where Deloitte can provide assistance.

What type of background helped you become a Tech Fellow?
My background is in computer science, operations, and infrastructure. I worked in a variety of different industries and in different positions, which has allowed me to go wide in a lot of areas and particularly deeper in a few (like distributed systems).

Lori Olson

Lori is an experienced software and systems architect with more than 25 years of IT experience. She has directed large corporations, government agencies, and small startups through new developments and major re-engineering efforts for complex mission-critical systems.

How has being a Tech Fellow propelled your career?
Being a Tech Fellow has brought additional visibility and opportunities to have an impact at Deloitte and to work with other Deloitte professionals. Being a Tech Fellow means that I can impact our clients, solving their biggest challenges by harnessing the power of the cloud for their missions.

What type of background helped you become a Tech Fellow?
Throughout my career I have selected the technical paths available: I have been a developer, an automated tester, a technical team lead, and a software architect. Bringing that experience with me and delivering mission-aligned modern, cloud-native solutions drove my career to Tech Fellow.

What advice do you have for aspiring Tech Fellows?
Hone your craft. Understand our clients and how technology can enable their missions, and make their concerns your concerns. Find innovative ways to bring them effective solutions, and deliver the best quality imaginable!

Dave Kelly

Dave is a Tech Fellow who specializes in system modernization, application development, and information security. He believes system architects, application developers, testers, and everyone involved in the process need to have a security mindset. This includes secure development processes, platforms, source code, and testing. Dave has developed many large-scale, high-visibility systems in the government national security and law enforcement markets.

How has being a Tech Fellow propelled your career?
The Tech Fellow role gave me a career destination aligned with my goals and where I want to spend my time: focused on delivering leading-edge technology solutions to our clients.

What type of background helped you become a Tech Fellow?
Technically-broad. As specialists, we spend a lot of time and energy developing our skills in specific technologies. As we grow in our careers, we need to have a more well-rounded technology skill base to help clients with big difficult solutions.

What does being a Tech Fellow mean to you?
It shows Deloitte's flexibility and commitment to growth in the tech sector. It's great to work in an organization that sees a need to support senior technologists and has the agility to create a solution.
